Information SlateScope uses

SlateScope reads and changes information in the Google Sheets™ spreadsheet where the user runs it. This can include company names, contact details, sales notes, activity records, follow-up dates, and other fields the user places in that spreadsheet.

User choices and recent-client history can be stored in Google Apps Script User Properties. Shared sheet settings and cache values can be stored in Google Apps Script Document Properties.

To run the free trial and paid subscriptions, SlateScope also stores a small amount of access information in Google Apps Script User Properties: the date your trial started, your access level, a random support code, a random installation identifier, and, if you enter one, your licence key.

SlateScope also receives your Google account email address and basic profile information, which the Google Workspace Marketplace provides by default so the add-on can identify the signed-in user.

How information is used

Information is used only to provide SlateScope features such as showing and updating client records, searching clients, preparing tabs, moving records, and counting sales activity.

Trial and licence information is used only to decide whether SlateScope is available on your Google account, and to help support tell one installation apart from another.

SlateScope does not sell personal information. SlateScope does not use Google user data to develop, improve, or train generalized artificial intelligence or machine learning models.

Licence checks

If you have a paid SlateScope subscription, SlateScope contacts a server operated by SlateScope to confirm that your subscription is current. These checks send your SlateScope licence key, a randomly generated installation identifier, and the SlateScope version number. They do not send your email address, your Google account details, your spreadsheet, the name or contents of any sheet, or any information you have entered into SlateScope.

If you are using the free trial, SlateScope contacts the same server only to read display settings such as the trial length. That request contains no identifying information about you.

The installation identifier is a random string generated when SlateScope first runs. It is not derived from your identity and cannot be used to identify you. It exists so that support can tell one installation apart from another.

Payments

Subscription payments are processed by Stripe. You enter your payment details directly on Stripe's secure checkout page. SlateScope and Mark Parq never receive or store your card details. Stripe's handling of your payment information is covered by Stripe's privacy policy.

Where information is stored, and who we share it with

Client data and activity records remain in the user's own Google Sheets™ spreadsheet. SlateScope settings remain in Google's Apps Script property storage linked to the user or spreadsheet. Mark Parq does not keep copies of your spreadsheet contents on any server we control.

Mark Parq operates one small licence server. It stores licence records only: the licence key, the Stripe customer and subscription identifiers it belongs to, the subscription status and dates, and the random installation identifiers that have used the key. It stores no spreadsheet data.

Who we share, transfer, or disclose Google user data with

We do not sell Google user data. We do not share, transfer, or disclose Google user data to any third party, except in the limited cases below:

• Google LLC (Google Sheets™ and Apps Script infrastructure). SlateScope runs inside Google Apps Script. Your spreadsheet data and add-on settings are stored and processed by Google on your behalf, within your own Google account. No transfer to Mark Parq occurs.
• Service providers for paid subscriptions. Stripe, Inc. processes subscription payments, and Cloudflare, Inc. hosts the SlateScope licence server. Neither receives Google user data from SlateScope: licence checks carry only a licence key, a random installation identifier, and the version number, and payment details are entered directly with Stripe.
• No other recipients. We do not share Google user data with advertisers, data brokers, analytics providers, AI or ML training providers, or any other third party.
• Legal requirement. We may disclose information if required to do so by law or to comply with valid legal process. We do not hold copies of your spreadsheet data; the only records we hold are the licence records described above.

SlateScope's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Security and data protection

SlateScope is designed so that sensitive data stays inside your own Google account. We apply the following protections:

• Encryption in transit. All communication between SlateScope, Google Sheets™, Apps Script, and the SlateScope licence server uses HTTPS/TLS. SlateScope makes no plaintext network requests.
• Encryption at rest. Client records remain in your Google Sheets™ spreadsheet and add-on settings remain in Google Apps Script Properties, both encrypted at rest by Google's infrastructure. Licence records are stored in a Cloudflare database, encrypted at rest by Cloudflare's infrastructure.
• Least privilege access. SlateScope requests only the narrowest permissions needed to function: access limited to the specific spreadsheet the add-on is running in (spreadsheets.currentonly), the ability to display its own sidebar and dialogs (script.container.ui), and the ability to make outbound web requests (script.external_request), used only to check a paid subscription with the SlateScope licence server and to read display settings such as the trial length. SlateScope cannot read or open any other spreadsheet, file, or Drive content in your account.
• Licence key handling. Your licence key is stored in Google Apps Script User Properties, scoped to your Google account only. It is never written into the spreadsheet, is shown only in shortened form in the interface, and is sent only to the SlateScope licence server.
• No copies of your client data. Mark Parq operates no server that receives your client data. The licence server receives only licence keys, installation identifiers, and version numbers, never spreadsheet contents.
• Data segregation. Each installation's settings are isolated per Google account and per spreadsheet using Apps Script User Properties and Document Properties. One user's settings are not accessible to another user.
• Your responsibilities. Because your data lives in your own spreadsheet, its confidentiality depends on your Google Sheets™ sharing settings. Share spreadsheets only with people who should be able to see the data, and remove access when it is no longer needed.

No system can promise complete security, but SlateScope is built to minimize the amount of data that could ever be exposed by us.

Retention

SlateScope is set to retain activity records for up to one year. Spreadsheet owners can remove client records and activity data from their own spreadsheet at any time. Settings can be removed by uninstalling SlateScope and clearing the related Apps Script properties.

Licence records are kept for as long as a subscription is active, and for up to 24 months afterwards for accounting and support purposes. You can ask for them to be deleted sooner through the support form.

Google account permissions

SlateScope asks only for the access needed to work inside Google Sheets™, show its screens, and check a paid subscription. The specific permissions requested, and why, are listed in the Security and data protection section above.

User choices and deletion requests

Users control what they enter in their spreadsheets and may delete that information at any time. To remove a licence key from your Google account, use SlateScope ▸ Trial & Access ▸ Remove key from this account. To cancel a subscription, use Manage subscription on the same screen. To remove all SlateScope settings, uninstall the add-on. For help removing SlateScope settings or stored data, use the private support form.

Children

SlateScope is a business tool and is not meant for children under 13.

Changes

This policy may be updated when SlateScope features or data practices change. The current effective date will appear at the top of this page.
